this probably is not a Norton issue, but since it has to do with security I'll take a shot at posting here

Can you delete the prefetch folder and its contents without mucking up security of the OS?
Also noticed in a subfolder in the prefetch folder a folder titled readyBoot. It had an item Trace1.fx
I googled this trace1.fx and only found confusion. Can this item be deleted too?
