--=Pricing on Norton Internet Security - irritated customer!=--

Hi.

I have been a customer for many years and have been using Norton Internet Security. And during this time I have sent complaints about your renewal system.

I can only speak for the Norton Internet Security product in Sweden, don´t know if this issue is the same elsewhere.

These are the facts(Norton Internet Security 2013);

If I renew through your Swedish website a 1 year upgrade subscription costs 599SEK. A new product costs 799SEK. Both these are download products(no packaging, no disc, no unnecessary paper/manual etc).

If I buy a new product from a web store in Sweden I can get it as low as 490SEK. This includes packaging, disc and paperwork/manual etc. If I buy a renewal from a web store I can get from ~410SEK including packaging, disc etc.

And this is what I questions about your business model, HOW can it be cheaper for me as a customer to buy something that you actually have to manufacture, transport and make profitable for the resellers then to buy a downloadable product that require no manufacturing/transportation etc from you part???

For me I can´t understand how a big company as Symantec could waste so much profit and be so irresponsible against the environmental issues, by using this really bad business model.

The obvious would be that the downloadable products should be far cheaper to make customers chose this option. It´s a win-win situation?! You make 100% profit of the downloadable price and the customers gain a lower price for being loyal to your product.

Hope someone from Symantec could read this and maybe forward this to the people in charge.

Best regards,

Mikael Gronholm
