First I upgraded the OS from 10.3.9 to 10.5.7. Then I upgraded Norton Internet Security from 3 to 4. Now on every restart I get two error messages:
"Norton Personal Firewall error/You have installed software recently that may reduce the security of your computer. You should restart your computer. If this problem persists you should re-install Norton Personal Firewall."
"Unable to load Norton Privacy Control extension/…has detected a new version of Mac OS X. You may need to update your installed …components. Please check symantec.com/mac or use the LiveUpdate application."
I've reinstalled Norton IS 4 and run LiveUpdate but these errors persist. I suspect there's some piece of NIS 3 still hanging around that didn't get replaced/updated by the NIS 4 installer. Suggestions?
