With the introduction of Private Browsing, it would be very helpful if Norton online family could provide some guidance (or links) to concerned parents on how to disable these features so our children can't activate them.
Even if Private Browsing is activated, it is not clear how OnlineFamily.Norton will behave and exactly what it will track or prevent.
(This is important since I've learned I can't rely entirely on the OnlineFamily web activity and need to use history logs as well. This is because, Facebook activity, for example, entries do not get completely logged in OnlineFamily leaving very significant gaps in the actual web activity.)
Thanks for sharing your thought with us. Norton Safety Minder monitors online activities and blocks the sites that should get blocked according to the settings you have setup on OnlineFamily.Norton.com with Private Browsing On or Off in Firefox or IE.
OnlineFamily captures all the web activities. If you find any specific websites that are not being recorded, please let us know and we will investigate into it. In terms of Facebook, we would suggest you setup a Facebook account and be a “friend” with your children. This would allow you to get a insight as to what is on their pages. Otherwise, the children's settings on Facebook would prevent "non-friends" from viewing their activities.
