Hi trotter

You need to recognise that it is a commercial and therefore not independent site and those findings are the complete opposite of all of the Independent tests that have been published recently showing Symantec/Norton consistently at the top of the pile.

Also, Matousec isn't really a firewall test, no matter what it's called. It's a HIPS test, and since I am pretty sure he tests with default settings, NIS will "fail" this test. Turning off Automatic Program Control would make NIS score much higher. Then again, this would overwhelm millions of users with countless and confusing pop-ups, perhaps not increasing security all, but rather decreasing it, since many would not know how to react to "svchost.exe is trying to to connect to IP so and so on port this and that" and would make an erroneous choice. Norton's firewall/"HIPS lite" is quite smart and offers better protection that what an, in practical terms, useless Matousec score shows.
