When I ran a shields up test by GRC, I found port 554(Real time stream control protocol) was open and test failed.
What to do?

Hi Jukka,
http://www.iss.net/security_center/advice/Exploits/Ports/554/default.htm
as you can see from the link above, that port is associated with many a multimedia program. Do you have any running at the moment that are using that port?
Here is a screenshot of the test, I have just done it, and my port 554 is stealthed. I do not have any multimedia programs open or running. (The picture must be approved by a moderator before you will be able to see it):

actually, I DO have windows media player LISTENING at the port, but not actively using it. Here, this is a screenshot:
Go to this address:

and download TCPViewer and run it. it will allow you to see anything that is using that port. You can post a screenshot here, by taking the screenshot, saving it using paint, and then uploading it using the little tree icon on the toolbar when creating a new message.

In case anyone is wondering about the images not showing -- it takes a little time for them to vetted by moderators if you aer a new member of the Forums. I gather after a while it becomes automatic but at first all posted images are put on hold before being displayed.
The problem was probably WMP. I turned it off from Norton, and now ja get "passed" from GRC Shields up port scanning , all ports being stealth.
Thanks a lot !
Jukka
