I recently suffered a blue screen event on my HP Vista laptop. My last full system restore point was in February and fortunately I ran a data backup two nights before the incident. Using the program disk to boot, I was able to restore the whole machine to the February restore point and it is now working normally. My problem is that I can't get Ghost 14.0 to recognize the data backup files. I use an external hard drive for both the whole machine and data backups. The full system backups are in a directory called HP Norton Backups, the data backups are in a subdirectory called File Backup Data within the HP Norton Backups directory. Using Explorer I can see the fbfFiles associated with the data backups. If I open Ghost and try to run a new data backup, Ghost sees the data backup setup and external disk. How do I restore my data directories to the last data backup?
Clearly AllenM is right about the advantages of full machine backups. I won't waste my time with data backups anymore.
Thank you
