I initiated Registration as the owner of a web site. Norton gave me two options that I must follow so they can verify that I am the owner of my web site (see the options at the end of this message). It just happens that I am using a template from Network Solutions, and I cannot add any meta tags/HTML codes to my web site. Is there any other possible to do this when using templates on web sites that do not allow meta tags added to their root folder?
To submit my Web site for ownership verification at NORTON (from Symantec) they require that I do one of the following:
a. Copy the following meta tag and paste it into your
Web site's home page.
It should go in the -head- section, before the first
-body- section.
-meta
content="ubgg4i7ijvv3ijhe7flkgqvmzu60hlbmxs0p
y0as9iqipyrzyy3afagt9fm3oy-fkdyg-7y3n8kdr-or0
15qii1dukl36xcm-3gisiv2acnqt5wp-0-9ye9qvxsvx0hz" /-
OR
b. Create a file with the following file name
and content:
File name: nortonsw_c29f9af0-5079-0.html
File content: ubgg4i7ijvv3ijhe7flkgqvmzu60hlbm
xs0py0as9iqipyrzyy3afagt9fm3oy-fkdyg-7y3n8kdr-o
r015qii1dukl36xcm-3gisiv2acnqt5wp-0-9ye9qvxsvx0hz
Add this file at the root folder of your Web site.
Verify that the file is publicly available at:
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
2. Log on to Norton Safe Web, click my profile to open
the user profile page
3. Click site dispute and under Actions column, click
verify site ownership.
