Problem using Remote Desktop Connection

I use Windows RDC from a remote location to get into two computers at home (One Win XP SP3 and one Win 7 64-bit). Both computers have the latest version of N360. The RDC connection works perfectly ... and when I am on these two computers locally, all network computers show up on the Norton Network map (and also in the Windows Explorer) ... and trust is either set to Shared or Full Trust.

The problem comes if i am away and for some reason either of the computers has to reboot (either because of a Windows Update, or because of a power failure, etc.).

After the reboot, I can no longer get into either computer using RDC, nor can I access them using the WAN IP:PORT address in a browser (WAN IP and Ports do not change). I have to either go home (or have someone do it) and open Norton 360, go to the Network Map (to refresh it?). Also, when I use the computers locally, the same thing happens ... if the computer has rebooted over night, then I cannot access network resources until I refresh the Norton Network Map.

( Also, I have confirmed the remote connection to my home network works perfectly by logging in to my NAS (no Norton 360) successfully using the WAN IP:PORT addeess ... which works perfectly.)

Once I refresh the Norton Network Map, then I can once again access them remotely. Simply refreshing the Norton Network Map should'nt be needed, but it seems to the the solution after either computer reboots. Does anyone know why? Or, is there something else going on with N360?

They are already both in trust control with shared or full trust.

Hi brossyg

Try running autofix by clicking the Norton icon, click support, click get support and let it run then restart the computer.  It should tell you if any items where fixed.  If you get an error message about MBAM then just click on skip on the error screen.
