I am trying to verify my site www.paylessgym.com but am having a problem. I tried to contact support and they could not help me. I am using a hosted shopping cart and cannot access the root folder. I see that there are other people with the exact same problem that have been resolved. Can someone help? Thanks.
Since you cannot access the Root Directory, you will need special assistance from the Safe Web Team and I will mark your post to their attention.
First, be sure you have registered as a site owner with Norton Safe Web at this link. You will receive a confirmation email with important information.
While awaiting assistance from the Safe Web Team, you should add the nortonsw authentication code by means of a Meta Tag to your Main (Home) Page.
You can create this new tag using your site building program. You may have already used Meta Tags for adding a description or keywords to your main page. Use nortonsw as the file name and the full authentication code as the content. The File Content or authentication code is the very long alphanumeric code that would have been sent in your email registration.
If you do not wish to create a new tag, you can add the authentication code to an already existing Meta Tag such as keywords which I see you already have on your site.
Use your site building program to edit the keywords. Copy and paste the File Content from your email registration, (the very long alphanumeric code) to the keywords tag on your main page. Be sure it is separated from the other entries with a comma.
Example: .... homemade pull up bar, pull up bars, chin up bars, zp_4srd6nros..............u30fm24fy
(Norton SW File Content is in blue text.)
Although neither of these methods will allow for the automated verification, it will assist the Safe Web team in verifying your site.
Let me know when you have completed this step and I will check that the code is properly located.
