problem with internal response

My NIS subscription is up for renewal in ~3 months. I will probably renew it, although tech experts have said it is much more than for home computer use.

I run NIS virus full scan at least twice per week. Also anti-spy, anti-malware scans. Admittedly, these are free editions as I cannot afford to pay for them, but for my purposes I feel NIS Full Scan, accompanied by these,  should be sufficient.

However, I have already lost one HD to a virus. Thus I still feel that paying for NIS is worth the cost. But I am always on the lookout for any computer changes which indicate the presence of a virus. There seems to be little definitive information for an in-between-be (between a newbie and expert-be) like me in this regard. Every time I hear my system make an unexpected sound I become suspicious.

Tonight, I signed in to 'Norton Autifix' (which I do not normally use).

Next 'Scan complete'.

Then "Open Support Website".

Then "Hi, I'm Nathan:.

Selected "Is my computer infected?"

THEN ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE!!

In the upper left-hand corner, 'Shipping App'

After that, kept flashing to some other screen-too quickly to discern content.

Click on arrow in upper left hand arrow had no effect.

Could my NIS actually been infected by a virus/malware/spyware?

As they say in Chicago, "Say It Ain't So, Joe".

Please advise, ASAP.

Thank you.
