Hi,
I wonder if anyone can shed any light on the problem I'm having with Live Update: I have NIS2009, Ghost v10 and Systemworks (basic edition) v12.0 running on my PC, all freshly installed following a system rebuild (motherboard failure). I continually get the error message as follows from Live Update:
"LiveUpdate has determined that this machine is running a pre-released or beta version of a 2005 Symantec product. This version of software is not supported by Symantec and cannot be updated. Please contact the vendor that you purchased the software from to request a released version of the software"
Well, I've done some research on this forum and it seems the problem is not unique. As far as I can tell, this Live Update component is utilised by Ghost and SystemWorks, NIS 2009 seems to have its own LiveUpdate engine ...... well, as recommended by other forum users I have downgraded the LU version from 3.4 to 2.6 and I have also verified in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared that all the cc*.* files are the same version (103.something) and finally I have cleared the directory
C:\Documents & Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\LiveUpdate\Downloads after I installed the older version of LiveUpdate (from the Ghost v10 install CD).
But all to no avail, I still continually get the same message and it's driving me mad. I should add that I have also ran the piupdate program and reinstalled Ghost, but the same problem keeps popping up.
I would be really grateful if anyone could offer any advice - thanks in advance :-)
