Problem with LiveUpdate internet connection

Hi! My Norton Internet Security says it's at Risk because it's not updated, but when I try the LiveUpdate, it can't be fixed because of the internet connection. It is not valid, though, because I am connected and surfing the internet normally.

If it matters, recently my computer has been through a high-risk virus, but it was quarantined by Norton. It is since then that I have this problem. I've tried everything I could according to Norton support, but the problem still exists.

In addition, the computer turns off by itself, showing me a notice in a black screen that something was not installed correctly or something is damaged. Lately, this has stopped, but LiveUpdate still can't download any update, 12 days now.

I would appreciate some help.

Thank you!

Hi,

Please try running Live update continuosly and if it fails again to stay protected with latest virus definitions, you can use the Intelligent Updater option. Its nothing but a means to get the virus definitions updated and remember only virus updates and not product updates.

You can download the exe file from this location: http://www.symantec.com/security_response/definitions/download/detail.jsp?gid=n95 and just run the exe on your machine.  One think to be noted is, please download the exe depending on whether your system is 64-bit or 32-bit. You can find it by the name of the EXE file.

Prasanna

To offer you a solution, we need to find out the exact LiveUpdate error. Here is the KB article to find out the LiveUpdate error:
