Problem with NIS 2014 & Internet Access

Purchased retail version of 2014 NIS last week. Was using the trial version while I waited for it to arrive.

Ran NRT prior to installing per the suggestions found in threads here in the forum.

Followed the instructions on the card (norton.com/setup & enter product key) & it installed fine.

Everything was going well at first. About 10 minutes after rebooting, my internet goes out. My network status showed connected as normal. Tried rebooting, still no internet. Finally turned off Smart Firewall temporarily & voila! Internet is back.

I came on here to see if I could find any related issues. NIS turned back on Smart Firewall & BAM! No internet access again.

Tried to open NIS to disable SF and the settings screen froze (not responding).

Had to go to another computer & grab NRT & run it again. Internet is back to normal but every time I install NIS, it kicks me offline then freezes if I try to open the settings screen.

Any suggestions?

I'm not very tech-savvy  :catfrustrated: but I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, I'm not sure what other information you might need.

Thanks in advance for any assistance :smileyhappy:

Hello

Do you access the internet using a proxie by any chance? If you do, you have to enter that information into the program. Also, do you have any other real time security program installed?
