Problem with Norton AntiSpam Outlook Plugin in NIS 2011?

Just in case someone has identified the same problem, it has now been resolved. THANKS TO THE PATIENCE AND GUIDANCE OF DELPHINIUM AND BJM.:smileyvery-happy:

"From what I understand, if you had installed a new version, rather than updating to the 2011 version, there would not have been a Norton Antispam folder.  Norton would have used the junk folder, which should have left the ability to add or remove junk from it.  It is having both folders that may be confusing the process"

This is correct. NIS 2010 installs the Norton AntiSpam box in Outlook although there is also the Outlook Junk Email box. Updating to NIS 2011 stops the Plugin from working in the Junk Email box.

I have uninstalled NIS 2011, deleted the Norton AntiSpam box from Outlook and re-installed NIS 2011. The re-installation did not put back the Norton AntiSpam box and Outlook Junk Email is working with the plugin as it should.

Thanks for getting back on this Judesman.  With a positive outcome, it may help others with the same problem.

Best wishes.

I have just upgraded to NIS 2011 from 2010. I had no Norton antispam folder in 2010 as Norton just used the junk email box and it all worked correctly.

Since upgrading to 2011 I see that if I highlight an email in my inbox I can press the "This is Spam" button to consign it to the junk email box.as before. However this only works in the inbox and does not function in any other folders or subfolders of inbox which is rather poor as I have numerous folders in outlook.

Yes it is the same with my Outlook (2007). I have two subfolders and "This is spam" is greyed out. As I transfer emails to these subfolders it does not concern me. I am not aware that it is possible to direct emails directly to a subfolder rather than to the Inbox.

Judesman.

This problem is NOT really solved!

In fact, the latest update (18.5.0.125) fixed a non-problem (Junk Mail folder) and created a real problem with the inactive "This Is Spam" button in all Inbox subfolders.

This needs to be fixed ASAP!

Judesman,

Create "Rules!"

I have hundreds of Rules and subfolders.  Therefore, "This Is Spam" being active in any Inbox subfolder and in "Unread Mail" search folder is absolutely necessary.

It did work until this last week due to 18.5.0.125 update.

Thanks t-data.  Yes of course but it is something I have never done.

I marked this problem as solved because the original problem as set out in the initial post on this thread has been resolved with the help of delphinium and bjm_.  I am also certain that my problem has nothing to do with the 18.5.0.125 update.

However there does appear to be a problem with "This is Spam" being greyed out in the Inbox subfolders. This  seems to be a separate issue and if this is something to do with the update perhaps there should be a new thread.?

Already started.  Thanks again.
