I was trying to solve the below problems in the Symantec chat room, but they were not able to handle it. I would appreciate if you could help me.
Problem 1: When I want to trace the intrnet hops to a website with Command Prompt (e.g. tracert cnn.com), all the hops get timed out when the Nis2011 Firewall is up (on a Windows7 system). When I take the Firewall down, it works. The result is the same regardless what website I want to trace.
A similar problem happens when I Ping the websites. Most will come back with a time-out but a few will work.
I suspect that the inbound signal is being blocked, but I am not certain and I do not know which setting I have to apply to fix it. I have anyhow a hard time to find any firewall settings that can be changed.
Problem/Question 2: In my Windows7 Firewall it says that "The settings are managed by Norton" (see picture). Does that mean that Norton is using the windows firewall and what are the implications for the settings. Can I e.g. disable the Norton Firewall and only work with the Windows firewall.
Your assistance is truely appreciated.
