i'm trying to undersand how this works. my new computer came installed with norton internet security. 2 weeks afterwards i subscribed for 1 year norton internet security. i kept getting a window in my desktop saying tracking cookies have been detected, and what i want to do. initially i just kept closing that window all the time without taking any action. one day finally, i selected "Ignore" when that window showed up. in a subsequent window that showed up i think i selected to ask me what to do each time when tracking cookies are detected in the future.
then i opened up the norton internet security program by double clicking the icon in my desktop, clicked on "Settings" besides "Computer" and selected "Ignore" for "Tracking Cookies Scan".
isn't what i did supposed to ignore tracking cookies altogether? however, i'm still getting that window in my desktop saying tracking cookies have been detected. in the pull-down menu in that window, the "Ignore" option is no longer there. i can only see "Fix" and "Exclude". i read somewhere that "Ignore" option shows up only the first time, and after that it disappears from that pull-down menu altogether. why is that? what is the purpose of having it like that?
back to the original problem, why am i still getting this window in my desktop saying tracking cookies have been detected? i observed that it is not scanning for new tracking cookies anymore. it is just saying "160 Tracking Cookies have been detected". the number 160 hasn't changed since i selected "Ignore" for "Tracking Cookies Scan" in Settings. so these 160 tracking cookies are old tracking cookies it detected before i set it to ignore tracking cookies in Settings. what do i need to do to stop that window from showing up in my desktop saying "160 Tracking Cookies have been detected"? it shows up all the time. even after i close it, it pops up when i boot my computer or get back from sleep mode. like i said, that "Ignore" option is no longer there. so that is not an option i can select. what else can or should i do now?
