Hi.
I have Norton Security latest v.22.5.5.14 installed. The PC was purchased running W8.1, then immediately ran free upgrade to W10.
After installing windows updates KB3103688 on 15/11/2015, and KB3118754 on 19/11/2015, I now get this message when attempting windows updates:
“There were problems installing some updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help:
• Definition Update for Windows Defender - KB2267602 (Definition 1.211.748.0) - Error 0x80070643”
Also a retry button.
I have trolled this thread on the community forum:
“After upgrade to Windows 10 both NS and Windows Defender appear to be active”.
I have examined all the suggestions for checking whether NS and Defender are running, and everything seems fine, i.e. all NS functions are ON, and all Defender functions OFF.
So what am I to make of this error message? As NS is running the security and Defender is disabled can I ignore it, or does this indicate another problem? There are no more windows updates of any kind so far in the history after 19/11/2015. NS is updating as normal.
regards
Swally
