Problem With Windows XP System Restore

Does Norton Internet Security 2009 interfere with Windows XP System Restore?

Although I can create restore points, if I try to restore to a previous restore point I get a message that System Restore is "Unable To Restore............No Changes Have Been Made To Your System".

I have read in a number of discussion forums that the problem may be with Norton Product Tamper Protection and advise turning it off.

Any comments and suggestions would be appreciated.

I am running Windows XP Home SP3, fully up to date with Widows Update.

did you already try disabling norton product tamper protection? if not try it.

Hi:

Assuming your System Restore Points are not corrupted...

Disabling Norton Tamper Protection should do the trick.

Be sure to switch it back on after the Restore is complete.

Just my three cents...

I don't know if this will help but listen to Plankton and I use to have to use SAFE MODE and I have XP..Gorpy 1

Thanks for your replies.

Just in case some of my System Restore Points are corrupt, I have removed them all by turning off and then back on System Restore.  This will give me a clean start.

The next time I need to do a system restore, I will disable Norton Tamper Protection and see if it works.

Thanks again.
