Hello @Hernan_Torres
Welcome to the Norton Community!
If you are seeing “An error occurred, please try again” while trying to sync the Norton Password Manager Edge extension with your mobile device, the problem is usually caused by a mismatched session token, a broken extension link, or temporary backend connection issues.with your phone:
Perform a Complete Sign-Out Cycle
A stale connection token often triggers sync errors between the computer and your phone.
Open your Norton Password Manager app on your mobile device and log completely out of your account.
Click the Norton Password Manager extension icon in your Edge browser toolbar.
Click the menu/settings icon inside the extension and select Log Out (do this for both your Norton Account and your Vault).
Close all open Microsoft Edge windows completely.
Re-open Edge, sign back into the extension first, and then log back into your mobile app using the exact same credentials . Try the sync again.
Reset the Extension Permissions
Recent updates to the extension sometimes require a permissions refresh to communicate properly with other devices.
In the Microsoft Edge address bar, copy and paste edge://extensions and press Enter .
Find Norton Password Manager in the list.
Toggle the switch OFF .
Wait 5 seconds, then toggle it back ON . If Edge prompts you to accept new permissions, make sure to click Accept or Allow .
Clear Edge Browser Cache
Corrupted background scripts can block the sync pop-up or secure handshake from completing.
Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete on your keyboard while inside Edge.
Change the time range to All Time .
Check the boxes next to Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files .
Click Clear now and restart Edge.
Reinstall the Edge Extension
If the extension files themselves have become corrupted, a fresh install will fix it. Because your vault passwords are securely stored on Norton’s cloud servers, uninstalling the extension will not lose your passwords .
Go back to edge://extensions.
Locate Norton Password Manager and click Remove .
Go directly to the official Microsoft Edge Add-ons Store and search for Norton Password Manager .
Click Get to reinstall it, log in, and try pairing your device again.
Check for Server Maintenance
If none of the steps above work, the issue may be a temporary outage with Norton’s mobile sync servers. You can verify this by checking the Norton Service Status page to ensure all backend features are operating normally.
To get your Norton Password Manager vault syncing seamlessly between your desktop extension and your mobile device , both platforms need to establish a fresh cloud handshake. Because your passwords use zero-knowledge encryption and are securely stored on Norton’s cloud servers, you can safely log out or reset the apps without deleting your passwords.
Follow these steps to establish a clean sync connection:
Match Accounts & Force a Full Log Out
The number one cause of sync failures is an expired secure session token or a subtle account mismatch.
Open the Norton Password Manager app on your phone. Tap the menu icon, go to settings, and log completely out of your Norton Account and vault.
Click the extension icon in your computer’s browser, open its settings, and log out there as well.
Log back into the desktop browser extension first. Double-check that the email address exactly matches the one you use on your mobile phone.
Log back into your mobile app using the exact same credentials.
Manually Trigger a Mobile Sync
If new passwords saved on your computer are not showing up on your mobile app, force a manual sync through the app’s settings:
On your phone: Open the Norton Password Manager app and unlock your vault. Tap the Menu icon (top-left) ➔ Settings ➔ Tap Sync Vault (or drag downward on the main vault screen) to pull down updated data directly from the cloud.
Set Up Passwordless Mobile Unlock (Optional Sync Feature)
If you want to sync your phone to your computer browser so you can unlock your vault via phone biometric notifications (Face ID/Fingerprint), follow this setup chain:
On your mobile app: Go to Settings ➔ under Vault Unlock , tap List this device for desktop unlock and confirm.
On your desktop browser: Click your extension ➔ open the web app layout ➔ go to Settings ➔ under Security & Preferences , turn on Passwordless Vault Unlock . Select your phone from the list to pair them.
Clear Local Extension Bloat
If the data transfer is hanging, it may be caused by a corrupted extension cache.
Reinstall the extension: Right-click the extension icon in your browser bar and select Remove . Go directly to the official Chrome Web Store or Microsoft Edge Add-ons Store to reinstall a clean, updated copy.
