EVERY YEAR I swear that I'll never buy another Norton Product. The last time I upgraded to SystemWorks 2008, Norton could never get it to work correctly. So I was forced to switch back to my old 2006 SystemWorks version. However, when I did this, I was still able to use the 2008 Anti-Virus portion of the program, so I was only half-mad. In defense of Norton, I must say that once I get their buggy programs working, they always work great. (With the exception of Ghost that I threw away and bought Acronis.)
This year I went against my better judgment and upgraded to 2009 InternetSecurity and SystemWorks. As usual, nothing but problems with SystemWorks, but InternetSecurity appears to be working correctly . I'm not go to go through all the Baloney again that Norton will want me to try - it's just too time consuming - one e-mail after another suggesting things that ever seem to make a difference. This time 2009 SystemWorks doesn't appear in My Account, SpeedDisk doesn't work, but WinDoctor & DiskDoctor does - when I try to reload the program, I get the stupid message that I don't have a Internet connection. Time to switch back to my bug-free 2006 version. I think that it's safe to say that all my problems started after 2006.
I wrote myself a big note saying not to buy SystemWorks again and stuck it on wall inside my out-house... Maybe I remember not to do it again come next year. Sorry, Peter Norton but our friendship since the days of CP/M, are quickly coming to an end...
