Problems installing Norton 360

I have been trying to install the update to Norton 360 and have run into a problem. I am getting a prompt that says:

"A problem that occurs that requires your attention:Installation requires access to a resource that is currently locked. Please try again later."

This seems like a rather generic response that to me, a computer challenged individual is not very helpful.

Any suggestions as to might what be resource might be locked and specific directions as to how to unlock this?

Do you now or have you ever had another security program on your computer? If so, you will have to remove it with the removal tool for that program.

I removed all of the security programs that were on the computer except one called "LoJack Theft Protection" from HP. I can't seem to find a way to uninstall it.

Where do we go from here.

LoJack should not be a problem. Different type of security.

Did you use the removal utility for any other security software? Not just the uninstall from the program or Windows control panel.

Are you installing Norton from an account with administrator privileges?

Please try the solution mentioned here and let me know the results:
