I have been having a problem with this for a couple weeks now. was online with Norton's but they put the blame on IE.

Mozilla can not access Norton's to download. every site & program seem to hing on IE. I can not email invoices from my quickbooks until I get this fixed because it uses IE. I guess this is why people hate Microsoft & windows. I still don't know who is the problem here.

any ideas?????????

Let's start with getting some more information on this problem to help resolve it. Which Norton product and version are you using? Also, which operating system and service pack are you running? Am I correct in assuming that you are using IE7? Any additional information would be helpful, thanks!

Hi Tony,  I am running XP Pro, I think the recent update on it is #3.  2008 NIS CD, not a download version.  Like the others my Nortons did an update.  At that point I could not get online with IE 7, Incredimail or Windows IM.  Mozilla would login.  I did everything, uninstall, reinstall, was online with your tech support who blamed Windows/Microsoft for my problem.  Once I emailed the removal tool from Nortons to myself,  then reinstalled which took 3 attempts because it kept saying that it could not download some updates, I had it kind of working.  Still could not get the email scanning in or out to configure.  I seemed to be missing some command.  Since I don't use IE but Quickbooks does and it was sending my invoices I was not going to keep messing with it because it was working.

The other day I did a very high tech thing.  I spilled some coffee into my keyboard.  At once I flipped it over and put a towel on my lap and began to tap the keyboard and run it back and forth across the towel to get the coffee out.  I could see some things on my screen blinking as I hit different keys.   At this point a Norton's page pops up and asked me if it 'fixed my problem' ?  I looked and the check mark was now green not red like it had been.  So I said yes, and it then said it was okay to download my updates. Which it did and is now fully scure.

Now I don't recommend anyone try this because I still have a couple sticky keys, but we have had a good laugh as I am sure you will too.  I don't know what the problem was, your tech support had emailed me instruction about going into the Reg and making some changes which I now do not have to do.

Thank the people in tech support for trying to help, and I will continue to drink my coffee over my keyboard.

I am so not technical at all…and I don’t even know if this is the same problem…but after going on a website for my Sims game…my computer started acting weird, the explorer program would blink in and out, and then Mozilla came up asking to become my defualt browser…then some other weird messages about removing some installation, but everytime I would “remove” it, it would just come up again…I think I have a virus…is your computer doing any of this??
