Process Updates failed to complete!

When I try the live updates I get the message "process updates failed to complete". How to solve the problem?

When I try the live updates I get the message "process updates failed to complete". How to solve the problem?

Same notification received 21March2013 when manually run LiveUpdate:  Norton Power Eraser failed to complete.

Norton Power Eraser last run 18 March 2013 after notification of intrusion attempt by Blackhole Toolkit Website 31.

Will continue to LiveUpdate throughout the day and monitor this series of posts for solutions.

LiveUpdate issues are often server related, especially when we see more than one user reporting. Just keep trying throuout the day.

 

If it lasts longer than a day, you may have some problem.

 

 

 

Maybe I’m not understanding this completely but why would norton power erase be part of live updates?

Switch automatic updates OFF!!!. Run RandR (remove and reinstall). Any time ude RandR instead of "Update"

You have no better possibility.

should we Remove and Reinstall the program as the one of the prvious users suggested or let norton come up with a solution!

Without knowing exactly what the problem is it may be difficult to solve it. Failures during updates, transmission, reception or installation can be caused by a number of problems. In the past I've been able to wait a short time[about 10 minutes] and retry by running live update and everything will complete correctly.

I have to question why your last Live Update shows 1 day ago - if you: "Switch automatic updates OFF!!!. Run RandR (remove and reinstall). Any time ude RandR instead of "Update"

 

If you run the NRnRT, you still have to run LiveUpdate manually until LiveUpdate responds "no updates found" in ordr for your NAV to be totally up to date.  If you just "reinstalled" NAV amd did not run LU - how do you know the situation in your first screen shot will not repeat itself when you run LU now?

 

It appears to me, all you have done was reinstalled NAV anddid not attempt to run LU - thus it could not report if any updates were not completed.

It'b,een hours and the situation was still the same, no luck at a positive live update, so went ahead and redownloaded Norton. Now seems to be working fine, although whe I reinstalled norton I notice that Norton applied a patch at the end of my installation process, don't know if that was a fix it or what but, IT WORKS NOW! SO.

8 failed updates (Norton Power Eraser) during almost seven hours, now success! :smileyhappy:

The problem is solved for me.

Can someone explain to me how norton power eraser is part of the updates?

Manually ran Live Update 21 March 09:00PM with same error:  Norton Power Eraser failed to complete.  Manually ran Live Update on 22 March 06:45AM and 7 updates were successfully applied, but Norton Power Eraser was not included in the list of updates.

Norton Power Eraser is a standalone application that you can download for certain malware detection. It would not be downloaded as part of LiveUpdates.

Can you post a screenshot of what is not downloading?

Yesterday, after 7 hours with failures, Norton Power Eraser was successfully downloaded.

I know you were not asking me for the screenshot - but I did encounter the same thing yesterday morning.
