What “password”?
Is the password you’re entering the password you use to log into this Mac?

macOS dialog is asking for the Mac account password, not necessarily the Norton account password.
macOS is presenting the authorization prompt and asking for credentials that macOS recognizes as authorized to install privileged software.

The pic and wording are macOS, not Norton UI. Norton is essentially the requester in the dialog:

Install Norton is trying to install a new helper tool.

Norton: “I need to install my helper component.”
macOS: “This requires elevated authorization. I need credentials that are authorized to approve it.”

If you’re entering Norton password, that’s simply the wrong credential.
Are you entering the username and password for your Mac user account?

That is a macOS authorization prompt, not a Norton login. It is asking for the username and password of a macOS account authorized to install the Norton helper tool. If you’re entering your Norton/Apple Account password, that would be the wrong credential.

Hello, it looks like there are multiple users using your Mac? You need to enter a username and password who has admin privilege. If you enter a username/password of a user who doesn’t have admin privilege then the installation will fail.
