Hi jamirorquai,

Tell me if I am correct - you formatted your system and just reinstalled windows and are now trying to instal the norton product you had installed before the format?  If that is correct you can try this:

Go to https://account.norton.com  Sign-in using the email address and password you used when you registered your Norton Product when you first got your system.  If you can get into your Norton Acccount you will see your product listed and there will be a download button   download.PNG - click it.  That should download your norton product and activate it.

If all goes smoothly you will need to run LiveUpdate (rebooting when requested) until it responds "no updates found".

I you can't get this done, come back - let us know where you are at and we'll assist more.

When you buy a computer it has a maker's name like HP, Dell or Toshiba and often a type like Pavillion and then a mix of letters and numbers like HPE h8-1360t

We need to know all of this information.

If you did a WIndows reinstall as a repair then it would retain details in the registry of the applications installed but if you just ran the Windows Installation disk then I would not expect this to be so and for your applications to have disappeared.

However if you used a disk that came with the computer that does a Restore to Factory Conditions then as I already said you should get back preinstalled programs which should run but which may still need activating.

We cannot tell you -- you can see the computer and you know exactly what you did so unless you can answer our questions and give us more information it is difficult to help.

Can an old 360V4 unused product key be used to activate a 360V6 install?

If it has never been used and is for the same version (Standard / Premier  -- and maybe even if it was the then Netbook versions) as you have now, then yes that generation of KEY should activate the current version.

When your V6 subscription is about to expire (because the new KEY replaces the old one and gives you in effect a new installation) just click on Renew and then the link to using an existing key .....

If there's a problem let us know and we can give you a Support link to help you resolve it.

But note that it must be completely unused -- if it was a 3 PC version then if any one activation is used the clock starts for all 3 ....

Please let us know how you get on.
