Greetings,
Long time user here, first time poster, so please bear with me.
So recently I acquired the Norton Mobile Security App for my Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5. This came with a 30 day trial for the premium features. Those features have since expired but I still keep the idea in my head that one of these days I may purchase a sub for the Mobile app. Unfortunately, there are a few things that I am either missing, or I am misunderstanding. Allow me to elaborate if I may.
In 2010 I purchased Norton Internet Security 2010. Norton Internet Security 2010 had protection for 3 devices at that time; protection for smartphones or tablets was not available with it, it was PC only. I am unsure if it was from a brick and mortar store or if it was directly from the Norton website...that point is moot however. The price for Norton Internet Security 2010, at that time, was $59.98 USD.
I subsequently renewed Norton Internet Security 2010 in October 2011, for $68.98 USD.
I then 'renewed' or 'upgraded' again in 2012, but that time I upgraded to Norton 360, for a total of $59.99 USD. This also has protection for 3 devices (PC only), no smartphones or tablets.
In 2013 I renewed Norton 360 in October for $79.99 USD.
In 2014 I renewed Norton 360 in October for $79.99 USD.
This year, I plan again to renew in October but in looking over my account and the services provided, I no longer see Norton 360. In looking over Norton's site in general, I see no ability to purchase Norton 360 itself. In fact the only thing I see available for purchase or renewal is various Norton Security packages.
So my questions are:
- Is Norton 360 still available for purchase and/or renewal?
- If not, has Norton Security replaced Norton 360?
- Is Norton Security more comprehensive then Norton 360?
- Why is Norton 360 MORE expensive then Norton Security?
- Why does Norton 360 NOT INCLUDE protection for Mobile devices if Norton 360 is MORE expensive then Norton Security.
My dilemma seems to be as follows:
If I look at current purchase/subscription prices right now on the Norton website, I could be paying LESS for a Norton Security package, even if I went with the 10 device subscription OR the 5 device subscription. I'd be getting MORE devices to protect with those subscriptions over Norton 360 (only THREE with Norton 360) AND I would be able to use it on my Samsung Tablet, which I currently cannot do with Norton 360.
By my calculations, I've already paid more then I need to for Norton 360, 2 years in a row, and I seem to be getting less 'protection' then I would be over the now available Norton Security packages. On top of that I should be getting a free subscription to Norton Mobile Security for my tablet because I have been paying more for Norton 360.
So...what am I missing? Did I miscalculate? Did I miss a program conversion or some 'special' going on now or in the past? Why do I need to pay for the premium Norton Mobile Security App features when I have had an active Norton account for 5 years now and the price I have been paying is now MORE then the packages you offer?
Can a more knowledgeable person then I offer up some sage advice for me please? If I can provide any more information, please do not hesitate to ask and I will do my best.
