My Norton Premium is due for renewal in 60 days time and Norton will charge me approx £100 (it was £95.98 last year). Meanwhile Norton are openly offering this same product on their official website at £39.99. Having been a LOYAL customer with Norton since 2003 I feel that I am being openly "ripped off" by the Company that I am paying to protect me from being "ripped off". Surely Norton can provide a better service than this to their loyal customers. I would be interested to hear anyone's, (including Norton's) thoughts or recommendations on the subject before considering my alternative options. Many Thanks.
Email scams abound. If it was not a legitimate Norton email, you cannot blame Norton for that.
Is this email from Norton legitimate?
Edit
Never mind. I see from your other post that you already checked the email address.
I received an email offering to extend my current Norton subscription (Norton Security Deluxe for 5 PC's) for only $19.99 but when I clicked on the link it had me sign in to my Norton account and directed me to a page where I was going to be charged $89.99. I contacted sales but they would not give me a direct answer and just wanted to sell me other things. I suspected this offer was a scam by Norton and am reporting it here so others are not scammed. I have been a Norton customer for decades but no more. Stay away from Norton.
Time to contact Norton Support to have them check into your subscription issue.

How many days is showing if you open your Norton product and click on Help - Subscription status?
automatic renewal, as it has been for the past 5 years with no problems. it even shows up on my bank statement with the order number, I would like to be able to type that in somewhere to see what is going on. is there a way? thankyou for your replies by the way.
Were you using Automatic renewal, or getting a new product key?
There is no indication of the new subscription dates or product key, as there has been for previous years. However, the amount was charged before I went away for a while, and that was nearly 5 weeks ago.
Have you checked your Norton Account at https://my.norton.com and clicking on the My Norton at the top right and then My Subscriptions. Look for your current subscription. It may take a day or two while Norton ensures your payment has cleared.
I have also been charged, without my subscription being renewed. I think I am going to ask for a refund.
GTF:You think you've got problems.
They took my money but didn't renew my account.
I'm so not happy with Norton.
When was this? Was it a renewal, or did you purchase a new product key from Norton? If a new key purchase, did you enter the new key into your Norton product?
Have you resolved the issue with your subscription?

Many, many, many complaints about this pricing model used by Norton.
Best advice is to go into your Norton Account and disable the Automatic Renewal for your current subscription. Then you can shop around for a better price from reputable retailers.
