In the Program Control seetings, if one removes a program from the list of programs, does that cause irrevocable problems?
For some strange reason this morning, in my history there was this entry:
"you created firewall rules to manage how Microsoft Office Word accesses your network resources"
This was involving the exe winword.exe(I scanned this item with Norton and it was clean)
Local Computer was the IP address assigned to me by my ISP
Traffic Descriptio: Outbound TCP, https
It did not show the IP address it was going to.
So I got a little concerned that it might be some sort of malicious send home , so I went and removed
C:\ProgramFiles\MicrosoftOffice\Office 12 from the program control list
so my questions:
1. Does this sound like some malicious send home activity?
2. Did I mess things up by removing the program from the prgram control list?
