Program trying to access Outlook - error message says it's anti-virus

I am running "Outlook Google Calendar Sync" to sync my Outlook 2013 calendar with my Google calendar.  It, obviously needs access to Outlook.  Ever since I installed it, I get the error message shown.  It's a pain because it only allows access for ten minutes.  The help section says that it's likely to be the anti virus software.  The MS Trust Center says it can't recognize that I have an anti virus program running, which I do - Norton Security Deluxe.

So, I have two questions:

  1. How do I permanently allow the calendar sync program to run
  2. Why does MS not recognize that Norton Security is running?
