I was checking email and got a pop up. The pop up said spyware was detected my on my computer. The pop up was promptly close, however it had already changed the background on my desktop with the same message and it will not let me open Norton 360 at all. Please Help

That's good advice. Additionally, if the scan turns up anything, I would recommend that you FIRST write down the malware that was found, then remove it from your system. When you are able to get into your system again, you may also want to check the Threat Explorer for your specific issue, and see if a removal tool is available specifically for it.
If your system is still infected, I would recommend that you follow the steps listed in the How To Troubleshoot a Suspected Malware Infection announcement. Thanks!
Tony_Weiss and Stu, remember that N360 does not work in Safe Mode.
What I would suggest muss717 do is download and run both SuperAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes' Anti Malware to try and remove the infection.
.
That’s the next suggestion
Please try to start up in safe mode and try to open N360. Than start a full scan
