Okay, I've received my answer to this, but am posting it here...as others may benefit from it. I should have put it here from the jump, instead of PMing. Gary, "Britton" our community helper who can build computers, helped me and I want him to also get credit for that. BUT it's also me following my own advice to all on here...to post your solution! That way the Community helpers know what fixed the problem and also average users like me, benefit and learn.

My question:
When I was attempting to uninstall that Superspyware, it was a nightmare. I had to shutdown Norton, so I also shutdown my network connection.
Well, after that, a message keeps popping up that there is new hardware I need to download! I hit cancel to the Hardware Installation box and all is okay. I went to Microsoft Updates, and I see there is an optional update to my ethernet software (an old one, too.)
Since my computer is running okay, I hate to make any changes to the connection.

I want to give Britton (Gary) the opportunity to answer this, so all can benefit!
As I browse (and learn) in the Norton Community, I see so very many problems, where the users never return to mark it "solved" or say what solved it. I think that is not the way to go...as how can people expect answers to problems, if those WITH problems, never give the info requested or take the suggestions and never return?
This is the best support site I have visited, and I think to be fair to those we expect help from, we should all follow through to the end of the process. Just my opinion!

PS Thank you Britton (Gary), although next time I'll post my hardware problems here..and PM you and let you know. I STILL can't get over the fact, that you can BUILD computers! Sorry if I'm embarrassing you!
