Does the history of the jobs on an external drive need to be removed from Norton Ghost 15 before the external drive is removed as an alias (and the backup job associated with that destinion alias removed)?
We ask because we noticed on one system that if the alias was deleted, all of a sudden the 'manage backup destinations' showed a the recovery points as being available on the drive letter instead of the alias. This caused problems with the new drive that replaced it (which used the same driver letter, but with an alias). Eventually NG15 has to be removed and reinstalled to start with a fresh history.
That brings the question, why did this occur (doesn't NG associate history by alias and not drive letter) with the new drive and is it neccseary to remove the jobs from NG's history before removing an alias?
