Hello, according to this article: http://www.cnbc.com/2016/05/27/serpent-like-malware-targets-your-bank-account.html there is a worrying piece of malware in the wild that can be difficult to detect. The CNBC and IBM (Trusteer?) article seems to call it GozNym, but Norton AV products might have a slightly different name.
I just need to know if the current definition files in NIS are able to detect and deal with it if it crops up?
As this malware is more than one component, and encrypts itself (possibly meaning its polymorphic nature makes it difficult to detect by standard AV methods), I just want ensure that I am protected. I use the latest NIS, with Rapport Trusteer for blocking browser key logging and MITM attacks, plus I run MalwareBytes at least weekly, and I run MalwareBytes Anti-Ransomware in the background too, as I feel the sophistication of modern Trojan and malware code these days needs a layered approach.
