My VPN was not connecting so i called in and the person did a uninstall and reinstall of Norton. That did fix the issue but it caused my Protection Report score to drop from 568 to 425. I need it back to what it was but not sure how. I tried to enable things but it just says adding points but it never does. Maybe if i wait a day it will go back to the score i had?
I called back in and the support person didnt know anything about the Protection Score. She kept calling it a credit score and asked if it was another app. It is on the Norton app. THen she had me call Norton Lifelock and that asked if i had identity theft account or wanted a new account so i hung up.
Does anyone there get trained on this product?
In your previous thread on Protection Report Score, it was noted that it was not generally available yet. Any chance you are in the Early Adopter Program for 360 builds? That could explain why the support rep is not familiar with the feature. It is so new that the support reps do not have the scripts for it.
Well, I have had it for months now. She had no idea what it was. The support staff should still have some kind of training as far as a definition at least. She had me call Lifelock and I dont have any account w them. She shldve had some kind of knowledge. It creates stress for users. Another guy I spoke with did say that after the reinstall I may need to wait 24 hours for reprovisioning. So i can chk it tonight. Score went from 568 to like 425. I may needbto just ignore it if it is always acting up.
It is called a Protection score. Bottom left of the app. Maybe you need to do a reinstall. Not sure.. or not fully rolled out. Strange though because I have had this for a while now.
Have you at some point joined the EAP ( Early Access Program ) with Norton, either knowingly or unknowingly? That would explain why you see that counter when we don’t. I just did a clean R&R on Norton last week due to another issue not related to yours. No protection score is present in the Control Panel of the UI nor the report itself. What is your Norton version as installed?
*Update. I waited 24 hours and the Protection score still says 425 so waiting did not bring it back to the prior 568.
Ok, I finally got this to work. Have to stay on that protection score screen and update items. It took a while and then said it took longer than expected and try refreshing. After i hit refresh button my core was up at 570 and green. I didnt add the password manager because chrome already has that and i dont want the private norton browser. 570 is a green score. I will take it.
