[Idea 6:6]
I forgot to mention this in my prior posting.
I am appalled at the fact that NIS 2011 does not have a "repair" feature. I have used Symantec Corporate Endpoint products for years and it has this capability. If Symantec can provide a repair feature for it's skilled corporate users, it should should provide even more "fix it" capability for it's unsophisticated retail customers.
I am an IT professional and know well what intrusions antivirus software makes to an operating system. Having retail users uninstall, run a "clean" tool that appears to not always works correctly, and then reinstall NIS is akin to a crap shoot if system components are not effected.
Note: that even Microsoft is now providing this capability for Windows problems.
