Proxy server not allowing this connection

I have NOF with two accounts for my children. Never had trouble until we returned from vacation. Now the internet is accessible through one of the children's accounts but my administrator account and the other child's account get the message, "Proxy server not allowing this connection," when we try to use the web. Neither IE, Firefox, nor Safari work.

1. We have Avira, but it has always worked in the past.

2. This message is received on all websites. And where are the "Web Proxies"?

JBynum,

Please check out the link below where shows another user confirmed that Avira and Norton Safety Minder are not compatible.

For where to find "Web Proxies", please log onto your Norton Online Family account at https://onlinefamily.norton.com/familysafety/loginStart.fs and select "Web Proxies" at Settings -> Web to see if it helps.

Thanks,

Katie

Tried both. Nothing.

Two things are strange about this:

1. It was working fine before vacation. What changed?

2. The internet on the parents' account, which shouldn't have any restrictions on it, doesn't work.

Any more ideas? I really like NOF but really need the internet on that computer.

Thanks.

JBynum,

Please make sure you have removed all of the components of Avira to see if it helps.

Even though you didn't update anything manually, but  Avira or Windows could have been updated after you restarted your PC.

Thanks,

Katie

Do you happen to be using Active Directory?

The symptom of logging out and then logging in and now you are being blocked as a parent indicates the ID of the logged in user has changed which is a symptom of AD.
