Have not manually run live update several times as I have been forced to uninstall Norton 360 in order to be able to connect to SQL Server Express.
After spending 2 hours on trying to resolve this issue, I decided to request a refund.
Sorry you feel you have to remove 360.
Do you now or have you ever had another security program on your computer? If so, you will have to remove it with the removal tool for that program before installing 360.
If you had multilple security software installed that could cause the conflict with Norton.
My issue with SQL Server and Norton 360 has been encountered by other users. However, no one seems to have a solution. Accordingly, a refund was requested and approved. PC Tools is now reinstalled with no issues with SQL Server.
I would like to know if you tired disabling the firewall or creating a rule in firewall to allow communications to the SQL server. Did you try checking the related SQL services?
