Hi,

Is it worth installing Quad 9, or does it merely double up on a Norton feature?

You don't install Quad9 DNS, you just change your DNS settings in either your router of on your machine.

I believe it is a great free service and it doesn't track you like some DNS services.  The only problem is for me living in Australia it is quite slow, but that is a fault with my ISP, not Quad9.

Try it out and if you don't notice any speed issues stick with it.  No problem having a layered protection.
