I backup my identity safe data to an encrypted partition on my laptop. if I leave the identity theft database in the mydocuments area couldn't someone just do an import and go back to an earlier indentity safe database that they found on my system?
- where do recommend I keep the backups other than online (i.e. cd/dvd etc.)
- if someone stole my laptop and can get to everything I have except the password for identity safe then couldn't they just pass the hash and load their own identity safe database on my laptop. then they have all of my logins to things I would rather not have people do.
- before identity safe I only used to keep non business related logins in a container file (i.e. if it was for personal use then I just remembered a set of passwords). now with identity safe I want to know what my vulnerabilities are. (never trusted Bill's Wallet).

seems to me with the identity safe backup file (because you can do a restore) you can just move the norton container file to any system that you want. especially if I build a new system I would want to do that.
other than keeping the identity safe backups off line and/or in an encrypted partition what do you recommend?

how possible is it for a bad guy to take my backup, do a restore and import my logins into their system. unless you have some sort of dual encryption key mechanism sure seems like my system is hanging out there.
thanks
