Question about NIS 2012 and ZeroAccess.

Hello to all,

I'm very concerned about the latest topics describing massive Zeroaccess infections and it's variants.

I'd like to know if someone from Symantec could officially tell us, (responsibly and at 100%), if Zeroacess or other variants are blocked in first place by NIS 2012 (IPS and/or other methods), or if NIS simply detects that the system is infected.

In my question, it is assumed that a user has a fully patched OS and other programs like flash player and Java up to date.

In my opinion, it is inacceptable that no one from Norton hasn't already replied to a question like this by himself.

As to the usual apologists, I saw a topic yesterday where some one described that all the topics asking for help with Zeroaccess could maybe spam messages delivered on purpose to damage Norton's reputation.

I hope he was well paid to write this otherwise he has some kind of problem.

Also, I'm very interested to have Mr Quad's opinion on the matter because his opinion really matters to me and I admire his work to help many users.

P.S. I hope to receive a reply soon because my subscription ends in about 45 days, and after 8 years with Norton, if the product continues to have such problems with various Trojans, I will move to ESET SS 5.

Thank you in advance for any replies.

All the best,
