Question on setting Privacy Trusts (NMS v3.20.0.3291 for Android)

Looking for suggestions regarding these periodic installed App "Privacy Trust" change notifications...

FWIW; Thus far I've detected no App functionality losses or gains by electing to either "Trust" or "not to Trust" a given App that has come to the attention of these NMS detections.

That said - Today (for example,) I received a notice regarding the MS Outlook App, essentially saying that it's "Trust" allowance needed to be reviewed. Up until now that App's sharing behaviors had been characterized by NMS as detected, but the with whom & to where had been unknown. Obviously, those additional details (at least in part) have now been ferreted out - ergo, the notification from NMS...

So my question now is this - If I elect not to "re-Trust" this App, will these identified "elements" be blocked from reaching these endpoint(s) by NMS?

Thanks Peter - You've confirmed my presumptions on NMS "Privacy/Trust" behavior.

As always, much appreciated! wink

Cheers!

If you are asking what these notices are, I have not seen one yet. I can only suggest that when a trusted app is updated and there is some change to the items that can affect the Privacy rating, you are prompted to verify that you are still OK trusting the app with the new permissions.

AFAIK, the trust this app just stops any warning about the questionable actions the app may perform. ie sending data to one or more location. Without or with the trust, it does not stop these actions from happening. The information is there so you can decide if you are OK with that developer getting any data from your device.

Trusting the app just lets you get a 100% rating on the Privacy scan on the main NMS page.
