After reading this months Norton NIS Report and as a precaution, I decided to create a NBRT disk. After waiting for the Downloader to download the program and begin the Installation, I read the EULA. The way I read the information on that EULA, I am only allowed to create ONE copy of the NBRT program. I have three PC's. I think the NBRT program downloades files from the PC, to help with the recovery process. Would this mean I couldn't use one NBRT disk, to recover any or all of the three PC's? I think each PC would need it's own NBRT Disk, because of the different OS's (XP Home, MCE and Pro). Do you have to go through the complete download and reinstall process, to keep the files current? Would it also be a good idea to download and create a disk for the NPE program? Could one copy of NPE be used on all three PC's? Again I don't have a known problem, I just like to "Be Prepared".
Hello PC_confused,
The NBRT loads in it's own environment outside of the Windows operating system, so you should be able to use the tool on any of your computers that have a Norton product installed. The NBRT will want to confirm the activation code, so it must be used on a computer that has a Norton product installed.
The NPE does not have the above requirements and can be used on any system - with great caution!
Hope that helps.
Phil_D - Thank you for taking the time to reply. I asked because there is a section that say the NBRT is downloading drivers. I thought the drivers might be for each individual PC. I do have the license for the three PC's, so I guess NBRT can verify the key code and run on each of the PC's. I'll try it and see.
