Can anyone help me sort this out?
Had an older PC with Windows XP and I renewed "NIS 2010" online on 2/14 2011 and all was well.
On 2/25/11, Norton's said I had a "free update" and it updated it to NIS 2011. All was well until it said it was a trial. However, I entered the Product Key from 2/14/11 and all was fine once again and was using NIS 2011..
My subscription was good until next year- 2/14/ 2012 THEN, my PC motherboard bit the dust. Had to get a new PC with Windows 7 in it.
Here's where I am lost-
It came with a free trial if NIS 2011 which I have NOT activated because I am confused!
Q. Should I activate the free trial? Or, should I try typing in my Product Key for the online NIS 2010 I purchased 2/12/11 and that is good until 2/14/ 2012? If I do that, will I get the free 2011 NIS update, or will I have to wait a few weeks for them to send me the 2011 update as I did before?
Great detail would be appreciated as I am FAR, VERY FAR from being a whiz on a computer!
What is best to do in my situation? Do I activate the free 2011 trial that came on my PC or renew my 2010 using the product key and HOPE they send me the 2011 free update as before? Exact detailed steps would be great! THANKS in advance!
