For NIS 2010:
What are the NIS version numbers pre and post update?
Does the update include the hot fix for the intermittent startup problem?
If the answer to the above question is "no", then do I need to reapply the hot fix after the update? If so, has Symantec verified that it's safe to reapply the hot fix after the update?
