Quick or Full Scan failing to complete, crashes Norton 360 (dual display setup)

I have had this for months - Quick or Full Scan would start but eventually resulted in a crash, sometimes immediately, sometimes after scanning for a long time. I would hardly ever see them complete the scan. I contacted the support, had Norton 360 reinstalled many times, with no improvement, would again see the crash almost immediately after I closed the support chat window. The support finally gave up on me saying that there is something "special" about my setup and they are not able to help me.  I almost gave up on Norton, but finally was able to find what was causing it - posting here in case this would help someone else: 

 

I have a dual monitor setup, with my primary connected to the DVI and secondary to the VGA port. But my secondary is a bigger one, so I started to rely on it more, then made it the primary, while keeping the other one connected as the secondary (to the left).  

 

Not sure why this would cause Norton 360 to crash during Quick and Full scans, but this was it. After I made my DVI port connected smaller display Primary again, Norton started to work normally and I no longer see any crashes.
