Quick Scan Not Starting

Last night I started to run the Quick Scan, and it said "Initializing" at the top of the scan but then it stalled.  I tried to stop the scan but it wouldn't even allow me to close the Norton Scan pane.  I did run a live update, and it said something like the last update was 16 hours ago.  It was some ridiculous length of time because I had just run a live update and it worked. 

I restarted my computer, started the Quick Scan again, and this time it ran successfully.  The Live Update was still incorrect though regarding the time span in between updates that I ran.  I don't recall ever having this problem with the Live Update time factor or with running the Quick Scan.  I have noticed recently a few Quick Scans while running seem to get hung up for too long a time. 

Has anyone else experienced either of these situations happening?  I'm curious to know if there might be a problem with my Norton program.  I ran the Auto Fix and it said it fixed one item.
