Have you tried upgrading to v2008?
That might help
I would also suggest Upgrading to N.I.S. 2008, although Norton 2009 Products will be Released in September 2008.

v2009 is still in beta. You could always upgrade to 2009when it is finished

I am well aware of that Stu which is why I wrote "September 2008".
It's ok

It might help. Additionally the Update to the 2008 version is a FREE update, and will continue your existing subscription. You can download it here:
http://www.symantec.com/newnis
So is this the way they make sure that everyone upgrades? To make the normal functions suddenly dysfunction? This is quite disturbing, both in my feeling of security and in my feeling of being played even if the upgrade is free. Seems that the company should have informed their customers of this needed upgrade (or had it in a normal update) rather than us having to search for an answer as to why our computers are apparently not protected.
Sorry to vent here. I should take this up with customer service...but it all (pardon the pun) BUGS ME.
Moved to a new thread for better exposure.
