Quick Scan would not run

NIS 2011
Vista Home Premium 32bit
Vista SP2
Browser IE8

this morning I went to initiate a quick scan. When I clicked to start it, nothing happened. I clicked again and still nothing happened. No Error message, nothing. Prior to trying to initiate quick scan, I was able to run live update (just got pulse update)
So I rebooted and waited a few minutes after start up and was able to run a quick scan (which was clean)
Now of course my concern is, does that mean there is something wrong? As I said It worked after I rebooted.

could it be due to all these norton update issues?
Or maybe just “delayed” because other things were “first in line” ahead of the quick scan initiation?
