Quicken 2007 One Step not working

I recently installed Norton Internet Security 4.0 and now Quicken 2007 'One Step' does allow a connection to the Internet to access my banking account information.  Application Blocking is set to Off.  Connection Blocking is set to Ask.  The only way One Step works is to turn off Connection Blocking.  The message in One Step is "Quicken could not establish an Internet connection".

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

jdhelle,

Thanks for notifying us about your problem.  This is a known issue that effects older programs such as Quicken 2007.   A fix for this is currently in the works. In the mean time, there is a work around

Immediate work around for this problem:

1.  Go to Norton Firewall.app : Connection Blocking ( Configure... )

2.  Click on the action wheel in the lower left hand corner of the dialog next to the question mark icon and select "Advanced Settings"

3.  In the "Advanced Settings" window turn off "Enable applications firewall"

Limitations caused by the work around:

The "Applications firewall" is a convenience feature and does not reduce security.  Your Mac is still protected.

With "Applications firewall" off you will not be able to write rules to the firewall which make exceptions to block or allow specific Applications.  Please indicate if this work-around works for you.

That work around didn't help me. I still have to disable application blocking.

Thanks,

Vintagerider,

Sorry, I forgot to state that Application Blocking does have to be turned off ( the default ) for the work around to work.  Thank you for pointing that out.
